Construction continues along 135th Street in Martin City.

Construction continues along 135th Street in Martin City.

In June the City’s contractor will be working diligently to complete their work along the south side of 135th Street. If weather does not delay the work, the tentative schedule shows shifting traffic to the south side starting late June or early July. The shift will allow the contractor to start construction work along the north side. All of the road work being done during these next months will result in curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and new street surface.

Street Closures-

JM Fahey anticipates closing the Wornall Road and 135th Street intersection starting the week of June 7th. The closure will last approximately ten calendar days. Detour signs are scheduled to be placed at Wornall Road and Blue Ridge, as well as 135th Street, to advise drivers road closed ahead. Southbound drivers may use 133rd Street to Locust to 135th Street as a detour route. Thru traffic and trucks will NOT be able to use 134th Street and Walnut Street for a detour route.

Utility Companies Construction-

Mark One is scheduled to complete construction work, independent from the 135th Street public improvement project, at the 135th Street and Highway 150 intersection shortly after the Memorial Day holiday.

Pot Holes-

The Martin City CID tries very hard to keep everyone updated on construction activities related to the public improvement project. Should you observe a pot hole or other road conditions, separate from the work being done along 135th Street, needing to be repaired, please submit those requests to the City of Kansas City, Mo 311 Action Center. The requests can be filed electronically using this link http://maps.kcmo.org/apps/311ServiceRequest/ or can be called in at (816) 513-1311.
