The Martin City Business & Community Association (MCBCA) is excited to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the St. Patrick’s Parade, Sunday, March 12, 2017. This year’s theme is a real jewel, “A SHAMROCK in the Rough.”All parade entries are encouraged to incorporate their love for all things Irish and diamonds in the entry decorations.

What Happens on Irishpalooza Day, March 12th?
Start the day’s festivities by running or watching the 5th Annual Martin City Whiskey Run 5K Race. The race will start at 8:30 a.m. Details about the race and registration for the race can be found at www.whiskeyrun5K.com.
Immediately following the 5K race, a Kids Fun Race will be held at 135th Street and Oak Street. You can register for the Kids Fun Race on the Whiskey Run website as well. All 5K race participations will be given a free breakfast from RC’s! Spectators are welcome to join the fun and purchase breakfast from RC’s in the Event Tent.
After the race, Irishpalooza festivities continue in the Event Tent!
The Martin City Animal Hospital will coordinate and emcee a Best Dressed Dog Contest at 11:30 a.m. (registration begins at 11:00am) with the canine winners and owners from 1st, 2nd & 3rd places also riding in the parade and receiving gifts. This is a FREE event for the public!

A Prince and Princess Contest follows the Best Dressed Dog contest beginning at 12:30 p.m. (registration begins at 12:00pm) Children ages 2 – 7 may enter. This is also a FREE event open to the public.
Winners receive gift baskets, a $25 Visa gift card, a gift certificate, and are also asked to ride in the parade as royal dignitaries. All participants will receive a gift bag for just entering. Entry forms for the Prince and Princess contest can also be found at www.Irishpalooza.com, under the tab labeled For Kids .
St. Patrick’s Parade
This year’s parade will depart at 2:00pm from the State Line Point Shopping Center at Washington and 135th Street, go east along 135th Street and stop at the intersection of 135th Street and Holmes Road. The parade typically has over 65 entries – a great mix of floats, family entries, drill teams, auto clubs, motorcycle groups, dignitary cars, walking groups and animal groups. The parade concludes around 3:30 p.m.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the following categories:
Overall best parade entry = $600
Overall second place entry = $300
Overall third place entry = $100
Additional prizes TBD.
