THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who attended our Third Thursday event, The Martin Talks, with KSquared, Katie Van Luchene, and Kimberly Winter Stern, at The Martin Event Space on Thursday, July 21st! The Martin City Business and Community Association works hard to plan this fun event that brought in an even larger crowd than last month!

Guests enjoyed complimentary decadent appetizers and Jalapeño Margaritas from Martin City Brewery as they mingled before the ladies took the stage. Continuing the new tradition, the main event rule was that whenever a train came through, everyone had to drink! When the train blew its horn as it came through Martin City, everyone raised their glass and took a drink of their delicious margaritas. Katie even got everyone to take a drink when she mistakenly raised her glass as an ambulance went by.

Guest speaker, HGTV Design Star, and owner of Bertrand Designs, Jennifer ‘Oldham’ Bertrand took the stage to talk about interior design and style with the KSquared ladies. Jennifer answered questions from guests in the audience about their own homes, and provided great insight into finding your own style! “Forget the trends, just do what makes you happy!

And support local artists!” Jennifer stressed as she talked about styling your home.  As one of the many door prizes, Jennifer gave away an original painting of hers. It will be worth thousands, we know it!  Other door prizes included gift cards for Charm, the boutique next door to the Martin Event Space, and Rosehill Gardens.

Boutique, Anaphora, gave a style makeover during the event. From casual to a daytime style that can easily transform into a night style with just a few key changes. They switched her blazer for a more edgy look with a leather jacket and new purse to completely change the look from a daytime look to an evening ensemble.
