We’ve got a good old-fashioned wager happening between two of our Martin City car dealers, Rob Sight Ford and Premier Mazda, all for a good cause, of course! Both dealerships will be collecting donations of new kids jeans and new kids shoes to be donated to Martin City K-8 School after our September Third Thursday event, however, each dealership is only collecting one of the items at their location.
Rob Sight = New Shoes
Premier Mazda = New Jeans
The dealer who ends up with the most donations by the end of Third Thursday on September 15th will be the reigning champion and will be taken to lunch by the other dealer!
Here’s how YOU can help:
Drop off new kids jeans (any size) and/or new kids shoes (any size) at the dealerships any day of the week.
Middle School sizes:
Jeans: Girls- Juniors size 1 to size 15
Boys size 12-14, 14-16, 18-20 and then smaller mens sizes
Shoes – Boys shoe mens 8-12
Girls – Womens 7-9
Elementary School sizes:
Jeans girls/ boys 4-6 & 7-14
Shoes girls/boys 12.5 – 7 & adult sizes 7-10
Tuesday Nights Only!
Beginning at 5:00pm on Tuesday, August 30th, Jess & Jim’s Restaurant will be collecting shoes and RC’s Restaurant will be collecting jeans every Tuesday until September 15th. Bring your donations into the restaurants to be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card from either RC’s or Jess & Jim’s. The winner’s name will be drawn at the September 15th Third Thursday event at The Martin event space.
About Third Thursday, September 15th, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
The goal of “3rd Thursday” in Martin City is to support our local Martin City businesses by making a point to shop and dine in the CID district on the third Thursday of each month. Of course, you are welcome to shop, dine and play in Martin City ANY DAY of the week but we try to do something special each month on 3rd Thursday to make it a little more fun!
This month, in addition to our regular event theme, there will be two drawings for $25 gift cards for those who participated in the jeans/shoe donation drive. Individuals who bring their donations to the 3rd Thursday event at The Martin event space between 5:00pm-6:30pm will be entered into a drawing separate from the drawing from Tuesday night donations.
Many of our businesses have 3rd Thursday specials and other offerings during this time, and our monthly 3rd Thursday theme typically offers panel speakers or entertainment of some sort, drinks, food samples, and other giveaways.
3rd Thursday in Martin City is hosted monthly from 5:30-8:30pm, April – October and ends in November with a holiday lighting. Stay tuned for more details about the September Third Thursday panel of speakers!
