Ozanam, A Residential and Day Treatment Program in Martin City for boys and girls ages 12 to 18, entered Rosehill Gardens 100th Anniversary Tree Giveaway in March and after a lot of hard work to drum up votes on Facebook, finally won three trees!

Rosehill team members went out in August and planted three maple trees on Ozanam’s grounds where there used to be Ash trees lining the edge of the road.  Some of those trees have died so it left a big empty space.  Because of the Emerald Ash Borer beetle destroying some of the trees in the area, Rosehill gave them a few other options and they chose maple trees.  “They are doing their best to save some of the ash trees remaining in their courtyard,” says Curtis Stroud, owner of Rosehill Gardens. “They will likely need to replace the street trees with maples sometime in the near future so we are happy to be able to start the ball rolling.”

About Rosehill Gardens 100 Year Tree Giveaway

Rosehill Gardens is celebrating their 100th birthday by giving away 100 trees in 2014. Each month, they have been giving away up to 10 trees to a deserving organization in the Kansas City metro area and rely on YOUR help to find those organizations!  If you know of an organization – or your own organization is in need of GREEN, please submit an entry!

What kinds of organizations qualify?

  • schools
  • nonprofit community services
  • churches
  • senior living facilities
  • veterans services
  • cemeteries
  • animal shelters/rescue centers (animals need shade too!)
  • sports fields / facilities
  • community parks

All submissions are posted on Facebook and the organization with the most votes (likes) by the end of each month wins some trees!  **VOTERS/ LIKERS/ SUBMITTERS must be fans of the Rosehill Garden’s FB page for their entry/vote to count. Winners are announced on the last day of each month and notified via Facebook.  If your organization doesn’t win the first time around, you can submit again on the first day of the next month and all the votes you have acquired will still count toward the next month!

How many trees can you receive? Rosehill Gardens will choose an appropriate number of trees to donate to your organization.  You may be given up to 10 trees total.  If you receive one tree, you may submit again for more trees but you will have to start the voting process over again.  Previous month’s votes for tree recipients will not count toward a new submission.

Trees are delivered and planted by Rosehill Gardens staff.  Tree donations are meant for organizations who want and need trees planted at their locations.  This contest is not meant for company auctions or as a means for organizations to raise money. For more information, view the entry form on Rosehill Garden’s Facebook page.
