State Farm insurance agent Alexa Barkley is now open for business at 135th Street and Locust, bringing personalized service and a deep sense of community right to our front door. The South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce joined the celebration with an official ribbon-cutting and a warm welcome to the neighborhood business scene.

Before opening, Alexa transformed the space with an ambitious remodel, turning a very old building into a bright, inviting office space that reflects her professional style and personal pride in Martin City. Our community is grateful for all the investment and all the work.
“This is my home,” says Barkley. “I’ve lived here for ten years, just down the street from Martin City K–8. I walk my dogs here all the time, and my family loves eating out here. And now, I get to grow my business here, too.”
That hometown connection runs as deep as her commitment. Barkley has already joined the Martin City Community Improvement District Board of Directors, stepping up to help shape the future of the neighborhood she calls home.
“I think there’s a lot we can do together if we all pull together. I’m excited about the future we share.”

Barkley has joined the MCCID Board to help guide neighborhood decisions.
Welcome to Martin City, Alexa! And thanks for jumping in with both feet!
