The Cornerstone Awards, hosted by the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Kansas City, Missouri, is an annual event established to recognize those companies and projects that have contributed most to the overall growth of the city’s economy. New construction projects, capital investments, and companies who have created or retained jobs within the city limits will be celebrated at a cocktail reception at Union Station Kansas City on May 20, 2015, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Bambini Creativ, Midwest Mechanical Contractors, Hangers Cleaners, Infinite Energy Construction, Martin City Brewing Company, and Martin City Pizza & Tap Room are all past Cornerstone nominees, and we are excited to announce that this year, we are in the spotlight again with TWO Cornerstone business nominees to showcase! (We don’t want to gloat but we actually have three projects nominated this year – the third is the Phase 1 Public Improvements along 135th Street!)
Congratulations to Margarita’s South and Grade A Tree Care for your 2015 Cornerstone nominations! Cornerstone Award finalists provide economic stimulus to the city of KCMO and Margarita’s and Grade A Tree Care have done just that. Their move into our community has spurred redevelopment and created much-needed jobs in our district. They also enhance the Community Improvement District’s (CID) reputation, which will help us attract more desirable businesses in the long run.
The EDC Cornerstone Awards reception is well attended and includes many alumni finalists, leadership from the Economic Development Corporation, City officials, corporate partners, developers, and business leaders from key organizations. We strongly encourage Martin City business leaders to attend the Cornerstone Awards in support of our local nominees.
