Stylish new space feels like home for residential real estate specialists.

An established team of innovative realty pros is celebrating the beginning of a new era for their business on the south side of 135th Street near the Wornall Road intersection. CEO Michael Hagen couldn’t be more excited about the future.

“It’s such a great fit, both our new space and the Martin City community that surrounds it. We’re focused on growth and now we’ve got everything we need to make that happen.”

Hagen Anderson & Associates is made up of a tight group of nearly two dozen professionals specializing in connecting people across Kansas City with homes that fit their lives just right. Michael Hagen leads the team along with his wife Liz Hagen and daughter Maribeth Anderson.

Hagen Anderson has already dramatically improved its corner of Martin City, transforming a vacant space into a totally remodeled, stylish headquarters that feels far more inviting than you might expect from this type of business. It’s specifically designed as a place to gather, talk, and even have a little fun.

Wide-open, warmly lit, and sleek with modern appeal, the headquarters is classy from top to bottom, and elegantly completed by splashes of cool wall art depicting iconic Kansas City. Michael says it’s the right environment for supporting the Hagen Anderson culture.

“We’re trying to facilitate the kind of a culture that makes people feel relaxed and part of the family. A key element of that culture is a sense of sharing and giving. It’s something we want you to feel when you’re here.”

“We’re about community, collaboration, and contribution as a team, and as individuals,” adds Maribeth. “We want to use this space to further that mission and we’re off to a great start.”

Shuffleboard anyone?

“Our Martin City headquarters can be more than a place to do deals,” Michael explains, chatting with us next to a polished game table. “We want it to be a welcoming community hub where nonprofits and community groups can come in and use the space to do good things, too.”

The spirit of this ‘community hub’’ kicked off with a gathering of neighbors and representatives of South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce businesses. A ribbon cutting celebrated Hagen Anderson’s official arrival in Martin City.

Unlocking the Door to Better Home Buying

Hagen Anderson isn’t just another cookie cutter real estate brokerage. This full-service team has paid close attention to what works and what doesn’t with big realty brands, carefully shaping their own idea of how to give customers a better experience and better results.

They take pride in a holistic approach centered on a client’s specific needs rather than just sifting through the market for available houses. And they’re rich in partnerships. They can bring together all kinds of partners from various corners of the realty universe to help with everything from cleaning out an old home to tweaking a sale for maximum profit. Ultimately, the goal is to help each client achieve their ideal lifestyle.

“We’re here to listen and walk clients through their lifestyle goals, not just find them a house,” Maribeth emphasizes. “Anybody can find you a house, but we really help you fit a new home into your bigger picture, and achieve the way of life you want with ease.”

Michael says the focus on lifestyle is apparent right from the start. “If you came in today, I might say, tell me about the top five things you love about where you are. Now tell me two things that would make it better. And then we would start to explore the investment side of what’s possible.”

The firm’s rise on the real estate scene comes as no surprise considering Michael Hagen’s long resume. He got his start in the 1990s, working for years with two major real estate companies before opening his own brokerage under the Hagen Anderson name in 2017. His experience and easy going personality gives clients a certain confidence that’s hard to put a price on. And his team’s wide-ranging expertise backs it up even more.

Maribeth Anderson has already racked up over $60 million in real estate sales in less than a decade on the job.

Another advantage Hagen Anderson offers is its connection to EXP Realty, a global cloud-based brokerage with over 90,000 agents worldwide. EXP allows the team to seamlessly collaborate with agents across the U.S. and in over 25 other countries. Buyers working with Hagen Anderson have the ability to purchase a home virtually anywhere in the world with an agent by their side.

“We have the best resources at our fingertips,” explains Maribeth. “Our relationships with agents world-wide aren’t broken up by franchises. We are free from that. It’s incredible, the ease and ability we have to communicate and connect with each other to give clients the best service possible. We’re very blessed to have a really dynamic team with a variety of strengths, whether you’re looking for a home in the Kansas City area or far beyond.”

Made for Martin City

Michael Hagen spent years officing across the state line in Kansas. It delivered all the key essentials, but ultimately, wasn’t quite right for making his business stand out. His location felt like just another building in just another office park. Martin City is different.

“I love the boutique, specialty feel of the Martin City neighborhood. It’s the right place for creating something unique in a unique part of the Greater Kansas City area. We don’t want to be like everyone else in our business. We want to be different, and moving here to 135th Street opens doors for us, in terms of our competitive identity and our interest in community connection. We think this is a prime location to attract the right people, both clients and agents, and expand our business to be all it can be.”

A talent for good taste. Hagen Anderson brought in food from Martin City’s famed restaurants to help wow its grand opening crowd.

Relocating to our neighborhood’s main drag was more than a strategic move. Michael Hagen is very familiar with Martin City as a long time fan of restaurants, shops, and other small businesses along 135th Street and Holmes Road. He even goes way back with the Van Noys, Martin City’s pioneering family of restaurateurs who have formed a cornerstone of our culture for decades.

“I feel like I’ve known the Van Noy family forever. A couple of them were clients of mine way back. We’ve always loved the neighborhood and what the Van Noys and so many others have accomplished here. It’s a great place to be, and we know it’s on its way up.”

After years of success and 2024 already off to a strong start, Hagen Anderson is clearly doing something right. Under strong leadership, they continue putting clients and community first as they grow. Stop by their Martin City office for a tour—you might just find the real estate pros you’ve been waiting for.
