Martin City Community Improvement District Website Redevelopment Project

Bid Opening Date: Monday, November 16, 2020
Submission Deadline: Friday, December 4, 2020

Project Overview

Martin City is a 300+ acre neighborhood district in south Kansas City, Missouri. The Martin City Community Improvement District (MCCID) was formed in 2005 after businesses in the area became frustrated by the lack of services and infrastructure improvements. (A CID is a specific area of non-residential properties owned by businesses that choose to pay an additional tax to help fund services and improvements in the district’s boundaries.)

MCCID is managed by the South KC Chamber of Commerce and is governed by a Board of Directors made up of seven property owners with locally owned businesses in Martin City.

Nearly 90 businesses are located in the Martin City Community Improvement District employing nearly 3000 people that work in the neighborhood every day.

MCCID’s website is often the first experience a visitor has with Martin City and we would like it to be as positive as possible.

Scope of Work

Martin City’s current website theme is no longer supported and many bugs and glitches exist throughout the template. MCCID is looking for an experienced website development agency or individual to migrate our current WordPress website to a new mobile-friendly theme and configure and update all widgets and plugins for optimal site performance.

Google Analytics will need to be reinstalled as well as Yoast and anti-spam plugins, Gravity Forms, and other tools and widgets we use frequently. Some existing content may need to be updated, repurposed, or reorganized.

We also need to convert 123 “Portfolio – Project” items into regular website pages. Many of them have multiple photos that will need to be reconfigured appropriately for each page. All current portfolio projects also have the word “business” in the URL and they will need to be redirected to new pages with new URLs that do not include that word. The SEO will also need to be added and/or updated on each newly converted page.

Half of our website visitors view the site on a mobile device and half view it on a regular PC. Our ultimate goal is to do an exceptional job of showcasing retail and service businesses located in Martin City. We are hoping to maintain as much of the look, feel, and functionality of the current website as possible, but we’re open to suggestions if they can significantly help us achieve our goals.
