We’re excited to welcome Spirit Halloween back to Martin City for the 2019 Halloween season! Spirit Halloween has opened a temporary location for the past two years in the former Gordmans retail store location, giving Martin City a few months of sales tax dollars we no longer receive while the space sits empty. The store is open every day until November 3rd so please shop local in Martin City for Halloween costumes this year!
MAKE YOUR COSTUME COUNT!
Spirit Halloween funds and supports “Spirit of Children,” who partners with hospitals around the country to make them less scary for children. It all started in 2006 with a goal to bring fun Halloween parties to 11 hospitals. Today, 100% of every dollar donated at local Spirit Halloween stores supports 141 partner hospitals across the United States and Canada.
All the donations made at the Spirit Halloween store in Martin City go to support local Kansas City pediatric hospitals like Children’s Mercy. The funding pays for Child Life Specialists and Fellows, a full-time Child Life presence in the emergency department, dedicated playrooms, teen lounges and private family spaces. Spirit of Children also provides educational equipment, computers, iPads, and distraction toys to use during procedures as well as toys created specifically for physical and developmental limitations.
